....as usual, of course.

Not normally a problem, simple hand-in-bag scenario, but today's is one I would rather forget.

I'll not be vulgar and describe the poo, in fact it was fairly normal. I live on Blackpool's seafront and it gets really rather windy in December. Alf decided that he wanted to lay his cable right in the middle of a footpath and so I picked it up.

Easy so far....

Once full, I dangled the bag by one of it's handles from my pinky. As I'm grabbing the other handle to knot the bag a HUGE gust of wind passed, buffeting the stbag all over the place. It almost felt like my world had been taken over by slow-motion, I knew what was about to happen.

Yep, given that I hadn't tied the bag and the wind was severe, it emptied it contents, all over meirked. So, not only had I encountered a bunch of young s in a Fiesta beeping and hollering as I'm picking up said st, I also had the absolute pleasure of walking home covered in it.paperbag

A lovely way to start a Saturday I'm sure we all agree thumbup

This reminds me of a story my mom told me about last week.

She was with my sister in her car looking at houses for sale on an estate near to where we live and my sister noticed an old man had was clearly struggling to pick up a load of potatoes which had fallen out of his split bag so my sister said to our mom - " aaar go and help him pick up his spuds".

Any way our mom jumped out of the car and crossed over the road to the old man and said "can I help you with that" - it then dawned on my mom that it wasn't spuds he was picking up they were in fact the biggest pieces of dog ste she'd ever seen.
The man looked up at my mom really surprised and said "erm yes if you wouldn't mind".

Mom then heaved as she helped him pick up the st watched by the German Shepard who had now made his appearance from behind a bush and my sister who was looking on whilst rocking up and down in fits of laughter with tears running down her cheeks.

Mom then got back into the car retching and said "just take me home".

The reason I don't use Asda plastic bags to pick up poo is because I have learnt the hard way a couple of times that those holes they put in them to stop any child stupid enough to put one over their head from suffocating either means you get it on your hands or on your trousers as you walk along, bag in hand, swinging it...

Precisely why when I had dogs as a family we only ever walked them in places they could poo without us having to pick it up!

The country side is a wonderful thing!

That could have been worse.

I'm not sure how, but I'll think of something......

The st bag is not something I use very often. I am blessed with a dog that likes to hide in the bushes in open countryside to do his biz. And before any of you poop scoop enthusiasts get on your high horse it's forestry commission land where the policy is 'stick and flick' . They have notices up stating as bins are not provided they prefer bags not to be used, due to the large number of so called responsible dog owners discarding the bag anywhere and everywhere.

Not so bad - but I went to bed last night leaving the cat asleep on the chair in my office. When I came down stairs this morning he'd honked up the contents of his stomach over the chair, including a 1/2 digested rat!

I am sure I have seen dogs advertising Andrex toilet tissue, are you suggesting dogs are hypocrites and never use that kind of stuff themselves? wink

Probably the single most unpleasant experience I've had was hitting a fresh ripe dog egg with a rather high powered petrol Stihl Strimmer.

I think I win this one. Collie. Diarrhea. Carpet. Only way to clean it up by soaking up in a cloth.
