Right.

I sold a car on ebay for my parents in law for £800. All conditions of the sale, must have more than 5 feedback and deposit within 24hrs and all that. Anyway, a guy from Ireland bid on it, fine, but can I get hold of him? I have e mailed, phoned and no answer but I have left about 5 voicemails. It finished on Saturday so I think its safe to say it wont be going to him as he seems totally uninterested.

Why do people bother, it just messes it up for the rest of us,

Rant over, any thoughts?

Ballache. Cancel the listing, inform the bay, get fees back. Back to Stage 1.

Some people on there are a complete waste of time.

I sold a car recently, had a couple of bidders who had contacted me with some questions and been bidding against each other. Then, at the last minute a 0 bidder wins the auction. Fine.

I send him a few messages asking when he wants to pick it up. No resoponse. Eventually, he sends me a rude message saying he is not in the country and not interested anymore.

I sent out a second chance offer, and within 5 minutes the next guy was on the phone to me, and arranged to collect it the next day.

make sure you file a non paying bidder or whatever ebay call it, it'll be a strike against the guy (even if only hidden away on ebay computers at the lack of negative feedback) but that should cover you for anything.

Email him saying you are having it delivered by low loader onto his drive , as agreed, Saturday morning and have added the delivery charge of £200.

Might at least get an email back.

Well it's been 4 days now so I can start the non paying bidder process. Because I only had one bid so I can't even use the second chance offer thingy. Just really bloody annoyed at this guy. He is in Ireland which, if I had been able to find this out before the end of the auction, I would have cancelled his bid. Called his mobile 4 times yesturday but no answer, left a message but still nothing

Whats his phone number - we can help and all give him a call for you. That would be funny for him.

And the best bit is that ebay have decided that you can't leave fair or factual feedback against him either, but he can for you if he so chooses...

There really are some complete fktards on ebay, i got a message this morning about a car i'm selling that just read "WHAT A BUY IT MATE, 245 FEEDBACK".

I politely told him to fk off and learn english (it's a fast car, he might hurt himself with his intense stupidity, i'm only thinking of his welfare to be honest)

There is a flipside to these situations - recently I had a winning bidder that I didn't hear a peep from for almost 2 weeks. When he finally wrote back, he stated he had been on holiday, and would I please check my paypal account to make sure the funds have gone in - but he no longer requires the item as it is too far away (collection only item), so I could do what I wanted with it.

So I sold it for a second time - for almost twice as much thumbup

Granted it was only £20 the first time and £40 the second time but who's complaining?!
