So, who actually enjoys Christmas?
I admit it's making more sense to me now my nieces and nephews are of an age to enjoy it but, really, it's a right royal it's a knockout bunch of arse isn't it?!

I enjoy seeing my daughters face, filled with joy and surprise but thats as far as it goes.
I resent having to spend my hard earned wages on giving presents to people who I can hardly bring myself to talk to.

Anyway, enough about my wife.

Xmas, s'okay I spose.

I like Christmas, the meeting friends and spending time with family, however I have found in the past that if I take too much time off, I find it tiresome and frustrating.

So for me its nice in small doses.

I find it difficult to get excited about christmas in the UK. I spend the last two christmases in Canada, and it seems much more fun there (in the UK again this year, bah humbug) - i guess the snow combined with sparkly lights helps a bit but there is a real sense of philanthropy over there which goes someway to offsetting the blatent merchandising and consumerism that typifies christmas in the UK.

You and you are the sort of happy go lucky elfs that Santa despises.

I do like the meeting up with friends & family but then again, I like that at any time....it's the whole "forced jollity" thing.

Santa is a Fun Nazi.

best best thing about it for me is seeing my girls faces first thing when they see what Santa has brought them. I have to work most of christmas but make the most of it while I can

It's alright if you can do it your own way. Which for me some mince pies and some peace and quiet. None of this overbearing present ste.

Oh, and some christmas pud. Maybe some mulled wine. With a piece of cake. And some those german marzipan chocolates...

It will be great this year, due to me having emsman jnr staying for christmas day, and through the generosity of folk on here.
After a ste year, it will hopefully be a happy event (bar mrs emsman and secret fking santa) and kick start some happy times in the household.

The down side is the number of idiots who wouldnt give you the time of day wishing you a merry christmas, just as they feel its the right thing to do, only to return to despising you for the other 364 days of the year.

I like Christmas Eve
I like Christmas Day
I like Boxing Day

Cannot abide the six week build up, office parties, shopping, writing cards, wrapping presents etc, the same 20 songs on the radio, all the preamble that goes with it. My kids will be bouncing off the celing long before Christmas Day this year, 4yo and 2yo!!

I'm off to Ottawa for two weeks on the 23rd, can't wait to experience Canada in the winter.

I've got 2 weeks off this Christmas. fking loving it.

And I've got ZULU on dvd. The old man is even letting me use his garage so I can even get my tie rods and cambelt done without being in the Scottish climate!

Of course the extended family can be tiresome but the obligatory bottle of Whiskey helps.

Interesting. The Continent seems to "do" Christmas in a much better way too. It just seems to mean more than here.

Two weeks being lazy, eating too much food, watching classic tv and presents as well, whats not to love?

Its good to see others excited and chuffed at what they have, its a chance to watch crap films and pig out and get pissed up.

Its always quiet out as well, its the one time of the year when the hustle and bustle of everyday life seems to stop.

On the other hand i hate getting presents as i'm not any good at receiving things, also since hunting was banned boxing day has gone to st.
