There was a lot of hubbub around Cold Fusion and such in the late 80's which subsequently all died down. 'Bubble Fusion' as it's called isn't the same thing, but it has also been similarly disputed and discredited, in which case why is such a large company filing a patent application for it if it's reportedly cobblers?

Being an Engineer, I merely work with the equations given to me than work them out in the first place, and I'm not useful enough yet to be designing anything worthy of a patent, so I'm not sure to make of it.
