....... a miserable old git?

What is it about people and puerile rubbish on TV?

I enjoy, History, Wildlife progs, Technology of almost any description, Old classic films and some contemporary ones as well.

But for heavens sake, what is there to enjoy or stimulate about "The X-Factor", and the like? I'd rather squeeze my gonads in a machine vice than watch such crap.

SWMBO would let me fall into a diabetic coma rather that get up off the sofa from watching "Emmerdale" and get my dinner. She would even video game shows FFS.

My daughter in law is an educated woman, a school teacher. She drives my son barmy watching all the game shows and soaps.

Am I in a minority, should I emigrate to the spare room and my own TV?

EFA.

You should grow a pair stand up to these women and watch the darts in your own home. Are you not the man of the house?

you're not alone! Much the same in my home. Luckily i have a games room and that is where i stay wtaching sport/films/documentaries or listening to music until the drivel indoors is turned off. When challenged SWMBO informs me that she too likes documentaries - worringly they tend to be about crime scenes and murderous women - perhaps i ought to take the hint!

My wife confessed to me recently that she is really rather glad I constantly moaned at her to stop watching fking eastenders. After about two years of campaigning I managed to get her off the addiction.

Now she wonders how she ever had the time stop to watch it.

However - I haven't managed to persuade her on X factor as yet.

That's very organised of you to go home, get the dinner cooked and laid out, go to football and then return.

Reading the thread titles in the Lounge, I read:

Cheryl Cole

eek I hope not - one's quite enough. Plus it would be weird.

"My daughter in law is an educated woman, a school teacher." These two statements do not necessarily follow.

shoot School teachers

I know we need them but at least when I was at school they actually gave a toss. Now "its a job" is all I've heard them say.
