Was in Tesco tonight and among the other things I bought where a couple of baubles for the christmas tree, two little globes with snow inside. Rather thick middle aged checkout lady putting the things through the scanner, as I am packing my stuff she turns to me and asks (word for word I swear);

"Could you check if your balls have burst as there is white stuff all over the belt"

At this point the lady behind me in the queue almost fell over in fits of laughter. Unfortunately, due to laughing myself the best retort I could come up with was "Will check but they where fine the last time I looked". It then dawned on the checkout lady what she had just said and promptly followed this with, "Oh god sorry, I didn't mean your balls I meant the christmas decorations" followed by more howls of laughter by the entire queue.

It then occurred to me that there must be many others that have been in similar situations.

Stories please

On landing in Birmingham after the weather in Luton became too foggy one pax said "I can't understand why we didn't land in Luton, it doesn't seem foggy"...err, that's because we're in Birmingham not Luton.

"Whats the orange bits in this carrot cake?"

But this individual also told me that killer whales were sharks as they had big teeth

I think the best question has to go to a dear friend who back when i was in school, came out with the immortal line of:

Her: "Where does Ivory come from?"

Me: "Elephants"

Her: "Don't lie to me! You think you're so funny, and I'm not smart enough to realise when you're lying to me! Well, Jokes on you...."

Queue laughing from the rest of the class as the teacher tries in vain to explain that i was, in fact, correct.

We had a right bimbo in our class, we managed to convince her that Liverpool was a separate country where they spoke Liverpudlian. We also managed to convince her that there was a tunnel to America. This is the same girl that couldn't find England on a map, even though it was a marked map.

Had this when purchasing a single bottle of wine on Friday.

Maybe I just look useless.

Why you take your own bags to a supermarket? Have they run out of carriers?

I like to think i'm not a cruel person, but when you're given the gift of a rather ditsy class mate, some things just have to be done. I love the Liverpudlian thing!

My sister, years ago, after reading through the Motoring section of the Exchange & Mart.

Many years ago, in a restaurant in Hampstead.

Waitress came over to take our drink orders. I ordered a pint. The girl told me that they only served beer in halves.

"O.K, I'll have two halves then." said I.

"Would you like them together in one glass?" She asked.

The idea is to think green so you have to ask/be offered bags now. You cant take as many as you want like you use to.
