Following on from the stupid questions thread I was reminded of a story a friend of mine told me about his unergrad/diploma class first day when the lecturer/teacher/person giving the lesson asked them to come up to the front and write on the board what they hoped to get out of the course. It was some sort of English/Journalism type thingy and one of his (Anmerican, so you'll have to assume the pronunciation) classmates wrote:

"I want this course to help me win the Pewlitt Surprise one day"

One of my sister's friends is often adAmant about things.

A very well spoken friend of mine went into McDonalds and asked for a coke, the lass says "a what??" He says a coke....lass says "We dont sell cakes here, sorry love...."
