Hi gang,

This follows on from a previous thread asking for help and support for my sci-fi novel, Noah's Ark.

Here's the score: I am a member of the Harper Collins website Authonomy - a site that offers new writers the rare chance to be reviewed and critiqued by the aforementioned publishing house. Every month, the top 5 books are taken off the site for reviewing by the HC editors. Some of the best books are picked up for publishing by them.

Here's where I need your help! To stay in the top five (I am fifth) I need support, or 'backings' as they are known on the site. I previously throught that a simple registry and backing would suffice, but there are a few more steps involved to make a backing count, so that is why I'm offering an 'incentive'

If you are interested, let me know on this thread that you will be following the below mentioned instructions. I shall add your name to the hat, and will pick one out at the end of the month. If the number of names reaches twenty, I shall up the stakes to £20. Thirty people, £30, forty, £40, and so on.

So here are the instructions:

1. Visit http://www.authonomy.com
2. Register
3. Click the tab marked 'books' near the top
4. Select the number one book in the 'weekly chart', (it is very important you pick from the weekly chart and NOT the editors desk chart) and select, 'back the book'
5. Return to 'book' tab and pick the second book in the weekly chart, and back it
6. Repeat until top five weekly chart books have been picked
-here comes the part that requires patience-
7. Click the 'me' tab near the top. It will bring up your profile. Below your avatar you will see your name and then 'rank'. It will say, 'not yet ranked.' Wait until that changes. The lower the number (ie the longer you wait) the better for me. This should take a few days.
8. Once you have a ranking (preferably below 4000) scroll down in your profile to see your 'bookshelf.' Remove one of the books.
9. Click the 'home' tab. You will see the 'editors desk' chart. Select 'Noah's Ark.' Read it if you want to. Select 'Back the Book.'

Done!

For those who backed the book before, I'm afraid this won't work with you because you have already backed it, but if you add your name to the thread anyway, I shall add you to the hat.

Thanks very much chaps, this is much appreciated.

Andrew

I read it before when you put it up and backed it then, so I guess there isn't much else I can do. However. I will say to people that havn't read it that it is very good and well worth an hour or so of your time.
I am not too bothered about being entered in the draw but I do want to read the end of the bloody story!

Just finished reading, excellent story. I felt the beginning was tough to keep up with, but a few pages in and i was hooked.

I would also like a copy of this book. If it gets published hook me up smile

Sure:

I know it's a pain, which is why I've attached a very small incentive to it smile
