Worse things happening to nice people

Went to my folks on Friday night to pick up some mail and just as I parked up, a neighbour came over and asked me if I knew CPR. Said no and had this horrible feeling immediately and asked who it's for and what happened. It was for a guy next to her who had a cardiac arrest.
Long story short, the ambulance arrived a few minutes later. Felt absolutely helpless as we couldn't do anything and heard one of the neighbours explaining how he stopped breathing for a few minutes. After the medics arrived, he was rushed off to the hospital, all of us hoped that he would be ok.
Just got the news from my old man that he didn't make it. Absolutely gutted for his missus and family. He was only 51 and even though I didn't know him that well, always said hello and chat sometimes. He seemed a pretty healthy guy so was even more shocking that this had happened.
Just goes to show you can't take anything for granted these days. He only became a grandad 8 months ago.
Can't begin to imagine what it would be like to lose a loved one especially so close to Xmas.
