My neighbour has the TV way to loud and we get woken up by his clock radio at 6am then it seems to go off every 15 mins for the next hour or so. I have tried to go and have a polite chat be we always seem to miss each other so I am goin to leave this letter under his door. Could you guys please go over it and change where necessary. I dont want it to come across in an aggressive manner. The guy below is in his 50s and seems a nice guy.

Letter:

Firstly sorry for not having a chat but we always seem to miss each other. Please could you reduce the volume of your TV as we can hear it clearly all over the flat. As a police officer I often work nights and I usually get in from work at 5am and get straight to bed but I always seem to get woken up by your alarm clock at 6am then it seems to go off every 15 minutes for the next hour so could you please turn that down if possible. I dont want this to come accross in a bad way as its just a polite request. Please let me no if we ever make to much noise aswell.
Much appreciated

I think it would be best to wait until you see him in person rather than a letter - I think it will be received better the fact your are a copper

You're not a police officer? Why put it down that you are then. Seems a bit of a "threat" rather than the polite letter if you're telling him you're a cop. If you actually work nightshifts, tell him the honest reason behind it rather than lying about it.

Isn't impersonating a police officer a criminal offence?

1. Don't tell stupid lies

2. Don't push notes under people's doors

3. Try to find a time to go round and talk to him. You can't do this with a note.

4. Apologise for bothering him and tell him in a polite and friendly way what the problem is. Ask for his help in sorting things out.

5. If 4 doesn't work, either buy earplugs or move house.

If you're going to lie, go big. Start at brain surgeon and work upwards maybe? Janitor for the Large Hadron Collider? Bobby Sands' ex cleaner?

Or, even better, grow a pair and just speak to the bloke instead of hiding behind a piece of paper with untruths written on it. Is it really that hard?
