North Face boots
Discussion
North Face is a sad example of a company gone wrong. When I first got into camping and walking a few years back North Face were the bees knees in outdoor equipment, and something that we aspired to. After ruining Burberry as a brand the chavs seem to have moved their attention to North Face as the brand to be seen in. Unfortunately I get the impression that North Face have supported this and marketed themselves to suit. As a result it seems to be in danger of being sidelined as an outdoor equipment brand. I bought myself a new pair of approach shoes just before Christmas, and it took me about 20 seconds to rule out the 20 or so offerings on show from North Face. Every one of them looked like chav trainers. A real shame to see a previously excellent company on the road to ruin.
I really like TNF stuff and I'm not a chav!
I've got a nice pair of their boots that I've had for a couple of years and they're very comfortable and look great. Annoyingly I had to buy 2 pairs to get one decent one as the L of one pair and the R of the other had defects in seams that made them uncomfortable.
Also have a waterproof which is good and a shoulder bag which is good quality.
Haven't found a lot of their stuff recently that I liked, their styling is getting a bit council. I also bought some approach shoes recently and went with Merrell.

I'm pretty sure the genuine TNF stuff (there's a lot of fake tat about) has a lifetime guarantee, just take it to any TNF dealer and they should sort you out.
I personally really like TNF stuff, although not bought anything recently. I have a pair of gortex lined walking boots which are great, and done a few miles. I also got a proper bargain via Ebay US about 18m ago in the form of a Sedition 2 snowboarding jacket for £100, they are £400 over here. It performed faultlessly on the 2 snowbaording hols it's been on.
It does have a bit of a dodgy image now though but what's the alternative? I'm due a new jacket I reckon.

Just a quick one,
Bought a pair of NF boots about 2 months ago and already each boot has splits in them.
Now I've lost the receipt and paid in cash, can I still ask for another pair. These are the goretex boots £120. Pretty poor considering they've had an easy life.

I wonder if they are the same model as mine Jannu GTX. I wont be buying another pair of NF boots.Bought a pair of NF boots about 2 months ago and already each boot has splits in them.
