I'm sure there was a similar thread in 2000. Probably predicting impending millenium bug doom (or not).
So what can we expect in 2010 - 2020?.
If I don't see hologram TV there is something wrong. What is Gates playing at?.
Will we stop fighting the war against terrorism? I doubt that very much. What can we expect from cars god forbid more electric power.

Mainstream hybrid cars and just running on one fuel source starting to become rare.
More information/entertainment driven.
Faster mobile phones with better Internet connection that will rival landline speeds.
Augmented reality becoming more common. Mainly due to above.
Computer/TV being more one and the same.
3d televisions starting to appear - Sky TV doing some work in this.
TV companies not existing as such and instead selling individual programmes rather that a whole channel.
Robots taking over the world and the human race being slaves.
(I may be overreacting to one or more of the above).

My predictions.
We have not yet had the rioting. I am still expecting it. Expect the rioting.
It will be a lot worse before it is better. By this I mean people will die. Possibly in the rioting.
Unless it goes all Star Trek on us we're f
ked. And that's without climate bks...this is just competition for resources...and I don't see the developed West taking control and fixing this st. They're just going to tax us to death and throw away the money whilst pretending that "foreign aid" isn't bribes to African dictators not to let their economies develop.
The Watermelons will be seen for what they are. Green on the outside, Red on the inside, but without a witch-hunt of McCarthy-esque proportions I don't see that changing much.
By the time I am old it will be normal practice to hand old people a syringe and say, "when you've had enough, use that..."
