I hate the overuse of the word quintessential / quintessentially, usually by some halfwit 'celebrity' on one of those 100 greatest programmes.

It's as if they feel more intelligent for using the word.

I bet half of them don't even fully understand what it means!!

Honestly for sure if that honestly annoys you you should for sure listen to Michael Schumacher interviews, honestly.

It's almost as if he thought we never quite believed him...

"Honestly" & "to be honest" are pet hates.
Another is "Clearly" - which can sound terribly patronising at times.

'Obviously'

No it's not obvious, if it was you wouldn't be telling me and if it's that obvious, why are you wasting your oxygen? Grrrr

The word contemporary used in every program about houses drives me mad.
Also ultimate means last, not best.

Sometimes it is obvious, such as the other night when I was pushing the car out of a snow drift. I said to the wifey that I needed her pull on the handbrake when I managed to get it rolling to stop it smacking into a wall.

She asked if I wanted her to be inside our outside of the car.

For sure. Why does he always say that? For sure.

why do you have a username if you're going to sign every post? (and why have you signed it with a different name from the one on your profile?) Also, where do you work? Could have some bearing on the use of those words

"Literally", especially when it's used to mean "metaphorically".

I'm sure (chortle) it's the new phrasing buzzword of F1 drivers. Listen to a Jensen Button interview. I think Hamilton is guilty of it too. Maybe it's a phrase reserved for Drivers' Champions?

At first I didn't notice but since someone pointed it out to me its bloody annoying and i always pick up on it!

"to be honest" gets on my tits! Are you not normally honest FFS?

The one that is getting to me at the moment is "look"!! See if you can spot it when any member of the Australian cricket team is being interviewed....
