What was the first thing you did this year?
Discussion
My first memory of 2010- Being on the phone at 1am consoling and calming my mate and his Mrs after he woke up and caught burglars in their BEDROOM.
They had gone to bed at 10pm and obviously it looked like they were out with it being new years eve. Robbers broke a window at the back of the house and cleared out the downstairs of the xmas pressies, wii, TV while they were in bed, then ventured upstairs. My mate was woken by their bedroom door opening
'Foreigner in a grey hoodie' is the best he could describe. They jackrabbited before he could get himself together. Disbelief I guess.
Apparently theirs was the FIFTH reported burglary of 2010. At 1am.
What is the world coming to? VBRJ for the win

Not a good start for him, I hope they somehow manage to catch the scrotes then torture them to death.
I started the year by very nearly getting stuck in the snow between whitby and scarborough. On the flat in snow the jag s type diesel auto I'm in does superb, it just doesn't like uphills. Managed to get through with a lot of sideways.

Thats an awful experience to have to go through. No longer will a little noise in the dark just be a little noise in the dark. It really saddens me to think that people will happily steal your hard earned for a quick gain for themselves
I was in the middle of Tudor Square in Tenby covered in ballons being hugged by every man/woman and their dog

a mate got burgled new years eve some years ago while we were out partying, he got totally ransacked they even went up in the loft, kitchen cupboards for a look
no alarm at the time, police told him 99% of house break in's, are houses that dont have an alarm box
probably best he wasnt in, as he was a RAF PT instructor and used to box for them

set off 10 chinese lanterns. Ihe 10+ knot winds. Yes they are supposed to go up and look pretty drifting into the sky. What actually happened was they took off down the road at high speed and at a height of about 6 ft, passing down the middle of two rows of parked cars.
Me being the only sober one gave me an 'oh s
t' moment when I looked down the road to see a house across the end of the cul-de-sac.
They reached the house at the end of the road to a sharp intake of breath from everyone. Then rocketed up the front of the house and cleared the roof by about a foot to loud cheers followed by much laughing and running up and down the road.
