Shinto for Japan.

China, i would imagine there is no religion given it's communist (edit to add, that's the official stance probably, with shadowninja being the unofficial position, however i'm probably wrong)

Google is a good bet but since you're asking here, I might as well give you an answer that might be wrong.

Shintoism.

And China's is mainly Buddhism with a smattering of Daoism and Islam.

Shinto and Buddhism are the main religions in Japan. China is a big place and has many religions but Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Islam and Christianity are the largest.

China mainly worships the ancestors, (an -ism that escapes me), plus Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Jainism and Islam. Christianity around Hong Kong and Macau.

Japan, mostly Shintoism, Atheism, Buddhism (although not much).

Christianity in China is picking up a bit apparently, but they take it quite 'literally'.

East meets West, confusion all round.

You mean 'riterally'...

Wasn't Samurai a religion? Maybe it was a creed...

Japanese don't care for their religion so much-according Wiki, it is said that Shinto or Buddhism would be main religion for Japanese but actually they enjoy Christmas (just for couples) and western style of wedding. Religion is not big issue for them and they accept any kind of religions/customs as well. It may seems little bit strange for anyone except Japanese.

Cheers wink
