Quick Maths Question ...

During the week I pretend I am poor for kicks and get the bus.

Bus fare was £1 in 2009. Bus fare is now £1.20.

What is the % increase?

Thanks

The % increase, or more correctly "percentage increase" is a term to describe the increase as a function of the original value.

Is this the followup thread to "why is tea with milk in it murky?"

At least he can spell.

Expecting literacy AND numeracy after 12 years of Labour Government is too much to ask I think. But at least schools will soon have to teach gender equality, phew.

I want to see him work it out now we've given him a few clues... I'm so glad labour pumped all that money into education.

I love the fact that if he googled "percentage increase calculator" he could have saved himself some serious embarrasment.

Also my reaction to the op was quite literally this :

LOL, the OP has gone very quiet, presumably trying to work out how to express an increase of twenty pence as a percentage.

(If you're reading the clue is in the words...)
