Getting rich in your 30's makes you a late developer?

Everyone is in such a hurry!

I've seen the light at 26 luckily and still view the last 8 years as wasted time even though I haven't done bad at all.

2010 heralds a new direction and a strong desire to go places other than my annual hols...

I've read the Bannatyne book and was pretty surprised he didn't get a proper job (working for himself) until his 30s.

Gives me a good excuse to get pissed all the time anyway.

I also love how reading the (auto)biography of successful businesspeople gives you a renewed determination. For a couple of days anyway!

Well there is a lot of pressure socially to succeed in career, marry, knock out kids etc early so perhaps it's nice to know it's not ever too late.

I guess it depends what you want. If you want to be a high flyer and earn 750k a yr plus bonus (of course) then you might have to start young and do 80hr weeks

If you just want a wife and kids and a nice life, you can start whenever you like smile

I think I'm more of a dis-developer, or is it just a veloper?

When I was 21 I was full steam ahead, get rich, buy a Ferrari by the time I'm 30, and so on.

Then I went to work and started making decent money, spending even better money, and living a life I really didn't want to live. fk all did that good me!

I'm 31 now and much as I love them, couldn't give a toss about owning a Ferrari. I'm having a great time doing what I like, seeing the world and being, to some people's minds, a bit of a bum. Part of me wishes I had done this 5 or 10 years ago, but no regrets.

Maybe in another year or two I'll decide I really do want a Ferrari. I don't feel at 31 that any doors are really closed to me otehr than the armed forces, which never appealed anyway, and being an F1 driver which however much it appealed to me eluded me for the lack of money, talent and because Michael damn-well Schumacher got the Ferrari drive instead of me. Hey ho.
