Little help please.

We think that this is a Sparrow Hawk but would just like to ask the opinion of the locals.

Cheers.

Yep, definately a sparrowhawk. They are certainly doing alright for food at the moment as the small are bidrs are being less catious - choice between starving to death, or eat food and risk being prey!

Cheers.

G/f spotted it out in the back garden late November last year and we were certain that was what it was but a friend had doubts smile

She was able to take a few pictures as she saw it land. Unfortunately the window caused some distortion and it soon left with most of its meal, save a few entrails.

yes Male Sparrowhawk.

Pothole's photo is a Female Sparrowhawk. Females are significantly larger.

Don't want to be the odd one out here but I could have sworn it was a Pereguine Falcon!

But on closer examination it does look like a sparrowhawk (and more likely in a garden)

According to Dizzee Rascal, they call you "mate", "blood" and "oi" as well as "rude boy", although apparently none of these are your name.

If it ate the head and left most of the body it would definately be a sparrow hawk.... (from what the locals around here tell me).

I saw a Sparrowhawk dive down 6 feet in front of me and take a Pied Wagtail, it was over so quickly, I barely had time to register what happened.

I felt a bit bad because I was walking the dog and it was the dog who frightened the small bird setting it off into the direction of the Sparrowhawk!!

But I also felt priveleged to have witnessed such a thing.
