I have just moved into a new property and so far in the last month there have been 4 items of mail that simply haven't arrived, and that's just the stuff I know about. Now as I live alone and generally don't get much post, especially as I haven't given a lot of places my new address yet (all still going to my parents house), that is quite a lot.

I'm not too sure really who to contact about this, I was going to stick a note through my neighbours door and see if she has had a similar problem. I asked at the local post office who I need to speak to and they said they didn't know.

So who do I speak to? I don't really want to give out my new address to more people until I know that stuff will actually get to me.

How long are we talking? the snow definitly and maybe christmas and strikes as well are still having an effect on post. There is also a central sorting office in the City which is like the head quarters of post offices, so maybe ask there, but also speak with the senders and ask for stuff to be sent recorded delivery? or to at least obtain proof of sending.

When I say a month, the first think that I know of that definatly didn't arrive was a bithday card sent on the 27th November, second was a letter from the council sent goodness knows when, third was a Christmas card sent 4th December and final item was a memory stick ordered from an online shop and apparently dispatched 7 days ago. There could be more, but at the moment this is all I know about.

Kit80 do you mean the sorting office near argos an also near Firth Road? I have picked up parcels from there is there an office to it?

I don't see the postman/woman during the week as I'm at work but will look out for them next Saturday.

You can email RM or phone up and leave a message. http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm
Best is to go to your delivery office at 0700 when they open the enquiry office and ask to speak to the manager that deals with your postcode area and is the best and easiest way to get a result.

That is the one, and I am not sure but would be a starting point at a guess.

If you do go to the office you will have to go before midday because the delivery managers are usually finished for the day by 1300

Sorry to go massively off-topic, but...

OP - reading between the lines of this thread and your profile - are you studying architecture at Lincoln?

Just that my son is interested in that course and Uni - is it any good?

It would be nice if the postman actually attempted a delivery. I have no idea how much post we're missing.

(and I live in a suburban street that no one else has problems with...)
