Not sure where I should post this but...

Has anyone had unexpected deductions from their bank account for ~£10 a month.

The loyalty scheme call themselves "Shopper Discount and Rewards" on the statements.

Seems quite a few people have been stung - I'd recommend you having a quick check.

Anyone??

If you suspect fraud, call your bank now. Some outfit, not the same as yours, has attempted a similar con with my account and the bank fraud dept were on it in a flash.

The posting was more of a heads-up to fellow PH'ers to check their own accounts - seems a popular con.

Huge amount of hassle to get resolved but our account is sorted now. I have also identified the retailer who passed on the bank details.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has this issue.

Obviously it's against naming and shaming rules to actually name said company. But would you like to give us a clue as to what market sector or locality they are in?

Google "Shopper Discount and Rewards" is the best option and you'll see loads of results.

The online retailer has actually published a blog page about it. Perhaps if you google the above and "Blog" you might be able to work it out. wink

Hmmm...is this going to be my first locked thread?!

Looks like theres loads of places have been at it over the past few years, from orange airlines to sellers of train tickets and posters. Well worth looking through the thread on money saving expert. Shocking.

Yes I kept on noticing this small amount, around 9.00GBP I believe on every bank statement as a DEB (direct debit) but had no clue what it was for and just let it go, like an idiot.

Only late last month I managed to find out my wife had ticked a box subscribing to this after she purchased some flowers. Apparently she signed up to this scheme without really knowing about it, suffice to say I cancelled it, despite them taking nearly 6 months worth of dosh from our account.

Hey you live and learn; read the small print before ticking the boxes!

Microsoft have been doing this from my bank account. I checked last years statements recently to find that they took a 12 month subscription to xbox live from my account 3 times last year at £40 a time. I need to phone them to ask why but I haven't got the energy to be on hold for 14 hours yet, when I can face it then I'll do it.

I can find references to a site that sends flowers, internationally.

Thanks for the heads up as I use them occassionally (although I tend to avoid the 'tick here to receive other offers' type boxes).

I have, although not knowingly authorised. Only £10 and they quickly refunded it when I sent them a stroppy email!

If it's the same people that got us you can get refunded if you are stroppy and persistent.

To be a little less cryptic - the company that got us is the one where you upload your digital photos and they print them and post them to you. The PHOTOS turn up in a BOX!!

Was about to post similar about Pristavint.
