I'm walking around the yard/car park/forecourt a lot during the day and the usual flat soled loafers I wear are proving a bit lethal on snow and ice.

I've currently got a pair of cat boots on with whistle and flute which look a tad daft to say the least laugh

Could anyone suggest something smart but wintery? I don't mind if they're shoes or lightish boots provided they won't mind snow/ice/bit of water and don't make me look like the terminator.

Sources or brands I should look at?

Browsing currently offers nothing that's a happy compromise between full on hiking boots and 'normal' summer shoes frown

Timberland is surely the only answer to this question.

I noticed one thing though, shouldn't you be getting the valeters to be clearing the snow!!!

Merrell and Ecco both do smartish Gore-Tex lined shoes, http://www.gore-textravelfootwear.com/mens-shoes.p...

Have a pair of cheap Keen shoes which are just about passable for work as well which replaced a pair of Timberlands.

approach shoes are good compromise for not only snow but mud and trail too.
