If you commute to London from the south there is a fire on a train at West Byfleet, All lines into London from this direction are now closed and trains terminating at Woking. If you need to be in London, today is a good day to drive it.

I'm stuck in Worplesdon, got my G1 suction cupped to the window to get enough signal to get internet to my laptop.

No it's not, we've had at least 2 inches of snow in the last couple of hours and it's still coming down. Roads are impassible.

Echoing what he said:
A31 Hogs Back is (alledgely) closed, roads around areas of Guildford gridlocked

Can't imagine Woking area will be any different...

I went to Guildford station and waited for quite a while before coming home and working from here. Just had a call from a friend who made it to Waterloo from Brookwood so I guess trains are starting to run?

When we arrived at Weybridge this morning at 07:20 nothing had gone through. Our train left around 07:40. I think the problem now is that so many trains have broken down that they are struggling to provide a service.

just seen one heading to West Byfleet going away from town

So yes appear to be running again
Cheers Swerni.

The service might be messed up and I think getting home tongith might be a problem so I'll be staying at home.

Off the main roads (where I am) it's still thick snow... 2 wheel drive wouldn't work. I actually managed to get stuck in 4x4 on my own driveway this morning. irked

Fairly. Trains seem to be running ok from Pad to Reading still.

The best lie I've come across from a train operator was last year on First Crapital Connect. I got to the station to find a few trains delayed and cancelled, the tannoy announced that "severe weather on the south coast was affecting train services" (only FCC services I might add). My parents phoned me that evening and I asked what the weather had been like, it had been sunny all day and there was no mention of weather bad enough to cancel trains on the local news, lying gits!

Our diesel train was nicely on route to London when we stopped at Ashurst to be given the announcemnt There is a broken down train at Oxted tunnel we'll be on our way shortly"

Not long after we received the following announcemt "The signalman has informed there are 6 yes thats 6 electric terains broken down round Oxted, they obviouslky cant cope with the snow like these diesels can"

Finally arrived in Lonon2 and a half hours late. Return journey fine.
