Ok, she's coming up this weekend from the West Country, train arriving at 12, she's got some friends she wanted to see for lunch so she's going to have lunch with them and then come up to mine afterwards in North London (this was planned last week). Great, I think, I can watch the football/cricket and then see her afterwards.

Today we had this conversation:

GF: Train should get in at 12ish
Me: Great, its worked out well, I can watch the football/test match while you see your friends.
GF: No, you're coming.
Me: Eh? You're seeing your friends?
GF: Yeah but now their husbands/boyfriends are coming.
Me: So?
GF: So? You have to come. You're saying you'd rather watch TV than come?
Me: I didnt say that
GF: Fine. You watch TV.
Me: Hold on

etc etc etc

Am I out of order? I just dont see why I now need to change my plans (albeit sedentary ones, I was looking forward to watching the football) because her friends blokes are now coming.

Please tell me this changes when you get married....

Go to a pub that is showing the footy. All other halves that have been dragged along can watch the game while the birds jabber on endlessly to each other.

Sorted.

school boy error

if you'd have said something along the lines of 'shame I've got XXXX to do otherwise I could have come with you' you'd have scored some brownie points and got to watch TV/drink beer/nap

If such a pub is allowed by the girlfriend. I'm suspecting not.

Understandably she wants you to meet her friends, stop being a prat and go out and have a laugh.

If she lives that far away then presumably you don't see her much, just record the footy.

How you react to all of the above is determined entirely by how much you want to have sex this weekend.

Yes, it changes... for the worse, from what I can gather.

When youa re married you get less bothered about this st, stand your ground and magically you are still wake up next to each other.

I personally hate having my schedule adjusted for me.

Hit on, and stare at friends chests. You won't get invited again.

Close the thread. What's the problem? Your 16 year old gf said it was ok.

ETA: wasn't suggesting you're immature; merely implying your gf needs to grow up with her "fines" and "whatevers" (go on, admit it, she has said "whatever" in an argument).

- Not sure we'll be anywhere that has footy on, I'd bet it wont have it.
- Yes could record the footy but its never the same....and then there's the test match!
- Yes, several schoolboy errors upon reflection

Go with the gf, get yourself and her friends chaps plastered in the pub then blame her as "it was her idea"

how old are you, twelve? Talk to her adult to adult, explain yourself without sounding sulky and then either do what you want and suffer the consequences or suck it up and have the best time you can with the crowd. You never know, you might enjoy it!
