Aftern making a big thing about free itemisation of bills 10 years ago, then charging for it and opting everybody out a few years back, Orange are now craftily charging for it and automatically opting everybody in, the bds.

My bills are always the same and paid by DD so I often just chuck them on a pile to be dealt with later. Noticed that this one seems quite thick - lo and behold they are itemising again, charging 1.50 +vat mad

Just a heads up - text STOP to 1228 if you don't want them. You can still view online.

Mods, please leave where more people will see smile

I assume you're referring to paper bills? I tend to opt out of those where possible, haven't even had one from Orange in fact, and I joined about 3 years ago

Yeah, I noticed the same thing last year. Phoned customer services and asked them to just send me the summary page instead, all was fine and dandy. Then suddenly after about 6 months they started sending me an itemised one again and charging me £1.50 + VAT for the priviledge. I rang them and told them that I hadn't asked them to do this so they apologised and I received a credit on my next bill. I just do it all online now. That way they can't cock it up (famous last words).

They cannot just opt you in and then start charging, that would be a unilateral change to the contract therefore no "meeting of minds" etc...

So ask them for all the payments back....biggrin

With decembers statement there was a slip stating that they now legally have to supply us with itemised billing, and were therefore charging for it. I don't remember seeing anything saying you could opt out which i thought was a bit cheeky.

will send that number a text in a minute, cheers.

How do I get them to cancel sending me this paper crap each month? I don't want it, I'd prefer an emailable statement.

Over a 10 year contract it would be £211.05. Taking into account last years 15% VAT rate.

Agreed!

Its not the best signal is it.. I'd prefer it if they'd just all use each others masts and get on with it.

I noticed this awhile back and forgot to do anything about it, just called them now and got a credit to my account straight away, orange customer services really are very good, when my phone was in for repairs that took longer than stated (entireley carphone warehouses fault) they gave me a full credit for the month and a half i was without my phone.

Pretty much non-existent in my experience.

I can't believe they don't. I would be so much better if it were all one network which companies could purchase a licence to have access to and then sell that access to their customers.

Just text the swines. I never read them, pay by DD and would only both to check the bill if it was over my monthly contract of £30.
