Discussion
Reproduction of a book from 1972 by a chap called Geoffrey Hoyle.

Fascinating! I have just read this in one sitting. I'm glad Daniel Sinker was successful in his quest to find Geoffrey Hoyle (Geoffrey Hoyle's Wikipedia entry mentions this. I should have realised he was the son of Fred Hoyle - I've read a couple of their science fiction novels). I'd like to hear his reaction.
Wikipedia fails to mention Sir Fred Holyle's autobiograhy, it's called The Small World Of Fred Hoyle or something like that, and is about his childhood in Yorkshire.
ETA - just found it; The Small World Of Fred Hoyle, Michael Joseph Ltd, Hardback ISBN 9780718127404.

And the working from home part, but he missed the bit where it means that you work more, not less.
That was a common assumption in the 60s and 70s - that increased availability of computer technology would decrease the need to work and increase leisure time. In fact, the effect has been precisely the opposite. And the webcam.
