How many wives can you have had before people get a bit snooty about it? (NOT how many wives can you have at one time!!!)

I reckon about 2. So if a 50 year old man says "I've been married three times" is this going to make you think "hmmm, seems a bit of a player this one"?

If you were 90 how many wives would you be "allowed" to have had assuming that you were unlucky and had lost some due to ill health? If you said "I've been married 4 times" would people make a judgement on your skills as a husband - even though you've had 70 years of potential wedlock to have filled?

1 is the only acceptable answer.

Having been through it once, you are a bloody idiot if you do so again.

Personally I think 2 is about right.

I would like to think I will never divorce, as at least for the foreseeable future I wont be married.. But if by some chance I married the wrong one, I'd like to think I could kill her and find someone better, without people thinking too bad of me.

It depends, doesn't it.

If you're a widower it wasn't your fault.

In terms of divorces? One, I reckon. You get divorced once then you got married foolishly young and grew apart. You get divorced more than once than you are an incurable marriage enthusiast who allows romance to triumph over common sense.

There will always be explanations and excepetions - the above isn't a criticism - just my view of how our society views divorce at the moment.

Not so much a player as more like there's something wrong with them.

As I am on marriage No:4 I take all of these comments personally!!!

Apparently I did not read the small print and missed the special offer: Free house with every marriage. (Only applies to the female partner).

I was talking to a gentleman from the middle east and he was telling me that having one wife was a bad thing as they try to control you. Having two wives was equally as annoying as they tend to bicker amongst themselves and that can interfere with watching the TV.
He then said that more than three is preferable as one of the women then becomes like the boss and the others fall into line. As there are more of them, they then try to vie for your attentions and make more of an effort to please.

The chap did however inform me that having several wives can get a bit expensive after a while, what with all the clothes and vets fees etc.

He said you really are better off getting a dog and spending the rest of your money on booze, fast cars and hookers.

Our President is on his 5th I think (lost count), either 3 or 4 are current wives, and engaged to the next already. Many wives is a sign of manhood and wealth in Zulu culture.

I'd say 2 at a push 3, you should be getting it right second time round, although they do say practice makes perfect.

Could be worse. He could be married to Winnie Mandela.

And you kept getting married, don't you learn from your mistakes?

Wives? GOOD GOD MAN!

You’re doing it wrong, all wrong!

1) Go down the pub and pick up a lady take this home for an evening’s entertainment.

2)If you feel it is necessary and do not wake up going "what the hell was I thinking" then you can cook breakfast in the morning

3) Get rid and repeat.

Do not tie yourself down man! That’s like getting a car on finance that you cannot change then finding out your neighbour got the facelift version!
