Right then rather than start two posts within 30 seconds of each other - here are two completly unrelated questions:

1: How can I get a mildly scratched DVD to read again? bowl of soapy water? anything like that actually work?

and

2: How do I get a pet cat to st outside. Its very well litter trained, but insists on waiting until it gets back in the house to go to the toilet. Where as being a cat owner i'd like it to go and st in my neighbours garden. Or at the very least in the massive woods behind our house, or maybe in our garden?

Thanks

Dan

No idea on the cat thing, but with the DVD you can get some good kits or if you have a gamestation near you they skim discs for about 99p I believe...

Simple, train the cat to crap on the DVD. Then you won't care that it's scratched and you can throw them both away. Job done.

Yeah, do that. Cats hate bananas.

First you need some ketchup on it, then use the banana skin.

Try putting a bit of soil in the litter tray. It might get the cat used to the colour of the soil and give him the hint that there is plenty more choice of places to go outside than in!

Put the cd in the freezer for an hour, take it out and rub it dry gently.

No idea if this works so let us know

Take the litter tray outside even. Never heard it being done before. Or variation on the same theme, some cat litter in the flowerbed etc.

I honestly have no idea smile

Gently rub outwards with a moist cloth from the centre of the hole outwards.

No idea how the DVD might play again.

I have the same cat problem. Don't see the point of paying for cat litter when there are acres of fields outside.

Have started moving the litter tray closer to the door, hopefully he'll get the message. His brother has already sussed there is an alternative to a stinky litter tray.

Gradually move litter tray closer to cat flap, then to outside the cat flap, then mix soil in with litter, then just soil.

Have one of these laugh

Seriously with the cat as was suggested above, use soil in place of litter and it will soon get the message.

Remove the cat litter tray. Sprinkle some used litter in the garden, ensure no chance cat can be bullied by others, may prevent them wanting to toilet outside.

You could move tray nearer door then outside but with my cat (who'd been indoor cat for 4 yrs) the only way I stopped him using it was to remove it in one go. I was prepared for accidents but it never happened.

Re: the DVD not sure!
