Short and to the point. Plenty of swearing. Sadly i had to read it twice to understand what you were bhing about and so only 5/10 for lack of clarity.

Guilty.

I tend to say "in order to take this forwards"

Sorry. I won't email you.

Amerifkca...Amerifkca....I like it!

It's catchy, it's zingy and it speaks to me.

Moving forwards, I shall use this word more often.

I'm fully with you on this one.

My previous manager kept using the 'moving forward' line during my PDR, whilst I didn't want to move forward - I wanted him to give me a satisfactory answer to my questions.

He was not around long.

Actually it's a variant that irritates me: "...going forward..."

What is wrong with "...in (the) future..." ?

Take this example sent to everyone (1000+ UK employees) about payslips being electronicized in future...

Dear Employee,
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOUR JANUARY PAYSLIP AND GOING FORWARD WILL BE ELECTRONIC.

Seriously...WTF?
(That was genuinely sent to everyone...I despair)

Obviously the above is pretty stupid.

Please note from January onwards your payslip will be electronic... much better.

I am with you 100 per cent mate! It's ste. I have banned my boss from using it. He picked it up from management wkers higher up the chain from him. He used it in a meeting on Monday. All it too from me was a glare and he said sorry.

Some fkers even use it on it's own. Like you might use "so" to break up two subjects.

Another dumbfk the other day said what they had to say. Paused and then for no fking reason just said "Moving fowards"

haha - Brilliant.
I wonder if it's a nervous vocal reflex? Must say something, so say going/moving forwards?
It's mostly managers who use the term too. Maybe it's in their 'How to be a manager for dummies' books?

I agree with the OP, a stupid sentance used by dumb ass middle management trying to sound intelligent.

Anyone who uses it, i hope "going forward" you stub your toe everyday for a month.

How to land a six-figure-salaried management role...

Make a mental note of all of these annoying bullsh!t phrases, apply for said position, reschedule interview at the last minute because you're "playing golf", turn up for re-scheduled interview, reel-off list of bullsh!t phrases to interviewer. Job done.
