Maybe I'm weird, maybe I have the over-active imagination of an unexceptional 10 yr old, silly but:

In idle moments at work, mostly at my desk, but also in meetings and briefings, I find myself playing with my Desktop Starfleet. A simple bulldog clip becomes a freight shuttle, with variable-angle 'wings' that double up as landing gear. Pens are generally the long-range starships of the fleet - long and sleek, with a command centre and bridge on top at the rear (which looks remarkably like a pocket clip to the uninitiated). Rulers are docking pads - post it notes can also fulfil this function. The list goes on......

I'm not even much of a sci-fi fan, beyond original Star Wars. Is there any hope for me....?

Do let me know when you want this deleted, I'll be happy to help.

P.S. That bit of sellotape holding your NHS glasses together is coming a bit loose.

If you're going to use the strong smelling Marker pens- make sure you put the lids back on.

You're probably in the same unit.

Do you not have group together?

NO NO NO!...the bulldog clip represents a WW1 tank, the gaps between document files and folders are the trenches, paper-clips are the soldiers and the desk pad is No Man's Land... FFS

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

HA! -Good one!!

But seriously. Is it so mental to gaze upon stationary in an idle moment and note its sleek almost space-age design? Really?

At least the OP and myself haven't invested large amounts of time glued to a fictional portrayal of the intergalactic future (e.g. Babylon 5) and then named ourselves after a central character on an internet forum? Mmm?
