Got a day off coming up soon, want to do something that isn't shopping or house work etc.

Need to be home to go out for dinner. I'm based in Oxford.

Find local pub.

Enter local pub.

Leave when a state of complete refreshment has been acheived.

Not a waste of a day- if you do it correctly, you wont remember any of it.

I'd go to the science museam following a big breakfast by South Kensington tube station, (there are some great cafes [and the lambo showroom] just by the station).

I never get the chance to go to these places on my own. Always being dragged hither and thither when what I really want is to stand and look at a stainless steel widget, or something.

Then the natural History is just next door and the V & A accross the road.

Head for home via Harrods which is only a few mins walk away. Best toilets in London, if nothing else.

If you go to the Natural History Museum, check out the wildlife photography exhibition - amazing stuff.

Sleep in. Morning masturbation. Shower. Bakery for breakfast sandwich. Driving range. Drop car back off at home. Afternoon nap. Go to pub. Return hammered.

This was posted on another forum, and its free admission too.
RAFMuseum

Here you go, and also see Incredible Sulks's post on the Brooklands Museum too. Visiting in the week means you get to sit in lots of cool stuff!

In London, I'd be at galleries/exhibitions. Annoyingly, most aren't open past 6pm on Weekdays (except Thursdays/Fridays - and I'm too busy getting druunk on those nights).

If in the country, I'd be at The Royal Berkshire, getting some clay pigeon shooting in, followed by lunch at The Pot Kiln.

Oxford? I was a student there. But I'm guessing that spending all day in the pub isn't an option for you, as was how I spent my days... Tooearly in the year for punting (and boring alone anyway). Wander round the Ashmolean etc?

Not too bad cheers, fingers just about healed now, not got full use of them though (and unlikely to return). Deaf in the right ear, and got to have an op on the right eye.

Which frankly, im not looking forward to having had it popped out of its socket three times already.

Otherwise, im fine thanks.
