Bloody hell - i've always used William Hill for my online poker and casino needs.

Never had any problems with them etc etc.

However I thought i'd havea look around and see what account opening offers other sites were offering.

888.com are offering somethign like a £800 introductory package, no deposit needed etc etc. The usual spiel - anyway looked in the small print - to be able to withdraw any of it, or anythgin won with it - you need to win 40 times the origional amount!!!!!

Thats alot.

Any reccomendations for where you like to play?

Good opening offers etc?

The casino. Walk in with cash, walk out with cash (hopefully).

None of this storing it up online and it can only be used for other gambling nonsense.

Full Tilt has a decent bonus system, it gets released in small bits ($5 a time) as you build up FT points. The points are gained by either a percentage of sit & go/MTT games or cash game rake. The bonus amount is matched to your initial deposit, a minimum of $50 up to $600.

So you don't have to deposit any of your own money and they let you play with £800? Surely that's worth signing up for just for some big bets in a couple of poker hands? There must be other terms to stop people doing that surely?

I've had a proper read now and you do have to make a deposit.

And of the 800 quid you only get upto 100 now.

The rest if made up of £60 quid bonuses given to you at happy hour slots over the next 12 months.

Consider the minimum deposit as free money paddypowercasino looks like a decent bet.

Don't confuse win with wager. They're very different things. Sounds pretty standard to me and you'll be surprised how easy it is to do.

Also, I had a quick look at the 888 100% up to £100 and it doesn't say anything or I can't see about withdrawing your £100. It'd be interesting to see if you void the bonus by withdrawing. Bonus whoring is more difficult now than back in 2006/2007.

Here's a feast for all you bonus and promotion boys...

http://bet72.com/

A comprehensive list of available bonuses there, and somewhere on that site they will explain about laying your bonus off via betfair to lock in your profit.

I asked to withdraw funds, nope, not possible. I have to wager another £700 odd.
They would have stated the staking requirements in the terms and conditions at sign up.

They will not allow me to withdraw my money (not even without the bonus), so I'm currently in discussion with what happens when/if I request account closure, do I get my money that way?
No, otherwise punters would withdraw bonuses that way.

Could you please confirm, as I am having issues finding this, that the average casinos odds on video slots (one of the only game types which count towards your 'wager') are around 70% payback (If yours are different, please adjust for the below calculations). With an original bet of X, for every time I wager X, I would only expect to see a return of X * 0.7.

Example.

X = £50
If I bet £50, based on a payback percentage, I should be left with £35. This is 1x wager (39 more 'wagers' to go)
If I bet £35, based on a payback percentage, I should be left with £24.5. (Still 39 more 'wagers' to go)
If I bet £24.5, based on a payback percentage, I should be left with £17.15. (Still 39 more 'wagers' to go)
If I bet £17.15, based on a payback percentage, I should be left with £12. (38 more 'wagers' to go)

If you continue to use the above logic, the chance in me being capable of wagering my original amount is < 0.001%?
They didn't respond to that
They aren't going to give away free money. There's no point in playing any game that's computer controlled, you can never win. Play the staking requirements through and be thankful if you come out level.

To get your money back take a look at the link above and sign up to some of the online bookies sites to claim their bonuses. Lay the bonus off on betfair for a guaranteed profit regardless of outcome.

I registered with BetFair quite a while ago.

They gave me £10 if I put in £10. But for signing up with BetFair, Quidco would give me £50.

Alrighty! I started betting, won a bit on roulette. Got to £50 and tried to take the money out. No joy.

Read terms and descriptions, I had to wager 50x the amount they had given me(I think, something like this. It equated to around £1,000)

I rang them up and the chap was most helpful, he said I only needed to wager another £30 odd and I'd be able to withdraw it. I was staggered that in only 15-20 mins on roulette, I'd managed to wager nearly £1,000.

I was quite shocked at how quick and easy it would be to lose a fortune. I got over this quite quickly luckily, played for 5 more minutes and cashed out. 30 mins well spent.

They're getting craftier now Jim, and stipulating that only slots games will contribute towards the bonus staking requirement.

Meh, if you think about you have an ROI of -2.7% on roulette. So wager £1000 and you only expect to lose £27.... it ain't that big a deal as it sounds...

I guess it was just surprising to me that in such a short of time I'd wagered that much.

At the time I did this, that was a fair sum of money, it's not exactly change now!

I was thinking along the lines of if I'd wagered a £1,000, technically I could have lost £1,000, which was a shock since "I'd only played for 15 mins".

I cashed out with £70 something and got my £50 from Quido. Result.
