I paid a few hundred quid for the item and no comm's from seller, tried ringing them and just get an answerphone and no reply to emails. They are a business according to ebay.

Carriage was £35.

I'm not prepared to wear the cost of the carriage either, I want that back too but I think paypal disputes only refund the price of the item only.

Anyone know what I need to do to get the carriage fees back too please?

Are you saying that no item was received? In that case, postage fee will be refunded by PayPal.

Where you have to send it back to the seller at your own cost - it's not refundable. Small claims court might work in that case?

Hi - thanks.

I have just had the same issue with another seller and the refund was for the purchase price only via a paypal refund.

With regard to this current purchase for a few hundred £££'s - I just got a phone number from the sellers ebay shop and they said I had to call someone else and he knew nothing about my purchase, said he was doing a favour for the seller rolleyes

He said he'd look into it and call back (he had about as much enthusiasm as Simon Cowell at a Butlins talent contest).

I am not expecting a call back if I'm honest!

I'll be giving ebay a miss from now on, it's full of bloody crooks!

A similar thing happened to me last year, spent a few hundred pounds through paypal only never to receive the item, made a claim through paypal and still did not receive any money back, so i'm a few hundred quid out of pocket with nothing to show frown not used paypal since!

I ordered a couple of capacitors, value with P&P £3.33. Didn't arrive, got PayPal to refund the whole amount with no trouble at all. Surprised? you bet!

In case you're wondering why bother for so little, it is the principle...

Jeese that's crap!

Can you go small claims route?

Paypal do set quite a short deadline for you to escalate the claim.

There's not way I'll be a few hundred quid out of pocket - they are only 150 miles or so away and I'll pay them a visit accompanied by the steel bars from my trolley jacks!

yes

Good for you!

I have done the same for a small £35 purchase just this week.

Supplier was good in this case and is sending again.

Dispute resolved once I receive them!

Elevate it to a paypal claim immediately. My friend didn't receiver an item he had paid for and got a refund 3 days after opening the claim. I was seeking a refund for something recently that I received but was faulty and had been returned and I elevated it to a claim. Paypal are supposed to give an automatic refund after 10 days if you haven't had your claim responded to by the seller. I hadn't had my refund by the 11th day so I called paypal and got a full refund including postage within 2 minutes. That was also for hundreds of pounds so was a relief to receive back.

Make sure when you sign for the parcel that the goods are inside, otherwise the seller may only have delivered 'something' in order to get the tracking details to appease paypal.

I bought a couple of bulbs for my 6D cell maglite from fleabay on the ninth of this month (paid by postal order)i recieved an email from some marketing company that my order had been dispatched on the ninteenth of this month, ten days later, no bulbs, i sent a message to the seller to see if delivery had been overlooked, he replied very quickly that they were dispatched and should be with me by now...
he's going to post another pair but i'm not holding my breath, it's almost convincing me to buy a £17 led upgrade (100,000 hour life expectancy!!);)

BTW, the reason i paid with a postal order is that when i tried paying with paypal, it took me away from paypal and went to some other site which i really didn't like so i went back and changed payment method...

I think I've been had.

I found a number for them (from their ebay shop) and they said my purchase was nothing to do with them & to call another number, I called the number they gave me and they also said nothing to do with them really & that they do some wheels as a favour to the other place I called.

I have sent 4 emails, phoned 3 times each time been told they'll call me back and no phone call received.

Oh well, I'm going to just buy a new set of tyres and keep my OEM wheels.

And if anyone is tempted to buy wheels and tyres from these guys - well, I wouldn't!

Mod edit, link deleted, No naming and shaming please

They sold it though - how that's nothing to do with them? Put in PayPal dispute then.
Too many fraudulent transactions now, some always on the lookout to rip you off. fking s, i never buy anything expensive anymore.

don't understand some of these problems, if i smell a rat i make damn sure i put it in dispute a day before cutoff and escalate similarly

had to do it 5 or 6 times now (mostly lost in post scenarios, one a fake) and either got a refund/replacement or paypal got money back very promptly

Have escalated it now and added my comments:-

No response from seller since purchase. I have emailed and called the number on their ebay shop (and been passed around). I have been promised three times that they'd call me back ...I'm still waiting.... What little information I did get from me calling them was that this involves a different supplier and the ebay seller has passed me onto them to resolve the items not having been received. My transaction was with RSRWheels & Tyres & it is THEIR responsibilty to ensure their orders are complete to their customers satisfaction. I have paid them in full for the items and in good faith and it is not acceptable to take several hundred £££'s of a persons money and provide nothing but stress in return. I do not have any confidence in this seller and will now only accept a full refund including the carriage charges.

Good luck with this mate - i got shafted for £180 a few years back. They simply wasn't interested. I had the name and full address of the scrote and the police told me it wasn't something they were interested in...

It took me 6th months of really stty emails to ebay and a final threat to take this to court to get a payment... it was only £120 or something which was the payout limit at that time.

I think a personal visit will reap more rewards than following the limp wristed letter of the law.

R-Soles!!!

Although paypal emphasize how safe it is for buyers and the protection they offer, it is in fact pretty meaningless if the seller disputes and says they sent the item that's pretty much the end of it.

Paypal do not check into anything in detail, it is just an electronic box ticking exercise.

I doubt that I'll ever see my £430 back unless I go and visit the seller making a few threats and even then the law is on his side and I'd likely be arrested.

This will be my last ebay transaction.

Such a shame one prick can spoil it for many others!

I guess I'll have to dig out the old sledge hammer and pay the seller a visit.

Goods, cash refund or both legs mate - choice is yours!

Focus on paypal and your credit card company. Sounds like the seller won't ever budge.
