I do. It's brilliant. No one else to worry about, can go when I want to go. Where are the bad parts? As for sad, who cares?!

I personally don't, but i kind of see why someone would as despite the common idea that the cinema is a social activity it isn't really. I may do in the future but as it stands i'm an image conscious 20 year old (hate me)and still care too much about peoples perceptions to go alone.

Yes. It's fine. Working away from home in A Town With No Cinema I took myself to see the first Brosnan Bond film at the tiny Am Dram theatre. There were five sad middle aged blokes and me. Okay, there were six sad middle aged blokes. And very well distributed around the theatre we were too.

A couple of weeks later my wife came to stay for a couple of nights and I took her to see Babe. "It'll be great. We'll have the place to ourselves." They were queueing round the block.

I do smile

My OH often can't be arsed going to see the films I want to see so I have no choice really!

Going during the day when it is nice and quiet is a very enjoyable way to watch a film, I'm not sure if I would do it in a busy evening showing though.

Yeah i do smile

I do live over the road from Cineworld though.

I really don't see an issue with it at all. It's not as though going to the cinema is the most social thing is it?!

If you're tempted to try it when you're in London but are still concerned about the opinions of others, I'd avoid the area immediately north of Shaftesbury Avenue,

I think the social aspect of the cinema is what you do before and after. Normally myself and my mates go for some food before and then talk about it on the way home.

I have been alone multiple times though.

Prefer it on my own. No=one to distract me from the film.

I often see a couple of films back to back on a day off.

I had a conversation about this very subject just the other day.

It strange that I will walk into a pub or restaurant by myself quite happily, but when it comes to the pictures, it's a big no no.

However my mum does regularly, so maybe it's an age thing?

I do every so often, if I'm working away from home on my own. I don't see that there's anything wrong with it.

yes i have gone without others, it makes it easier to enjoy the film.
I don't see there could be a problem, as long as you're not going to see the latest Barbie film, or something like "alvin and the chipmunks squeakquel". You would probably get some very strange looks...

Yep. Life is too short to worry about what other people think, where it doesn't matter. If you are not hurting anyone, who cares?

I suppose it could be considered that but if you want to see something and nobody else does then go for it!

Age thing!

I go by myself. Last time I went was to see Saw5, I was the ONLY person in the screening - just a little bit creepy. They even sent in a door man to hold it open for me at the end hehe

I don't know if it's age, how old are you? smile

I will go to the cinema alone frown but could never go to a pub or restaurant alone (unless I was meeting someone in there).

Yep I'm sad, I go to the cinema and go to the pub/bar on my own, one of the drawbacks of being a billy-no-mates.
