A recent topic (lets just call it a Muslim related issue!) has prompted me to post this thread starter, for no other reason than to give the opportunity to all members to voice their opinions on the amount of insults and general gratuitous slagging off that occurs on an increasingly regular basis !
Irrespective of the subject matter, i find many on this forum quite intent on stirring up trouble for the mere hell of it!
Is anyone really that bothered?
And if it didn't happen, would the forum be better or worse for it?

Technically, erm, that's you 
I'd suggest that most people are capable of robust argument about the right subjects. Tempers flare easily on that topic. I'd posit that the moderation on PH helps enormously in avoiding rapid degradation of the conversation, and the ad-hominem silliness.

I'm not a big fan of the muslim religion, or any religion to be honest. All they seem to consist of is 'Do what we say and give us all your money'. I think that religion should be a personal choice and not forced upon you, but that's not always the case.
But aside from religion, which is designed to extract money from the weak minded and to stop people having any fun, what does annoy me is the people that regularly come out with racial slurs without a second thought. I have an asian girlfriend. In day to day life, the amount of times I hear people getting into a rant about people of the asian orientation, or to put it the way most people put it, p akis, is unbelievable. I'm white and I guess most people think that I'll share those views and don't bother to ask before plunging ahead with their thoughts. When I was a kid I also thought that way as that was how my parents raised me, but when I got old enough to have my own mind I realised there's more to a person than if they're brown or not.
I still hate rude bwoys and innits though, but that doesn't really have anything to do with their colour. I'm just

Probably of all the serious topics on this forum it polarises opinion more than any other. You can stifle debate, but people have very strong views and the line between debate and racism can depend very much on your personal point of view.
PH could ban the subject from further discussion. That would be one choice open to them, or they can moderate it (quite effectively and delete/edit those posts that clearly overstep the boundaries)

Oh God, not another one, it been done to death on here, I therefore have a standard response based on the forum that is discussing the race issues.
Having a bunch of right wing, middle class white boys as is the PH membership discussing what is racist is a tad ironic to say the least.

I personally think that racial and religious views should be kept to yourself on an internet forum. I'm not going to turn this into a rant but it seriously isn't fair for us all to have to read some peoples bigoted views.
You don't like aisan people or muslims? fking get over it as they will be around for a long time. I don't really think they could care less about what you have to say about them.
It's the 21st fking century for christ sake. We are no longer in 1960. There are a multitude of different ethnic backgrounds within this country.
Let's all just fk each other and make multi-coloured babies.

I have done some extensive research on this subject.My findings have been contrary to your assumption.
