Bought a couple of those rich for life ones, and a couple of others recently.

Not a scratch (pardon the pun).

Don't think I'll be bothering again...

Got to be in it to win it!

I have a punt every now and then when I use the kiosk at the supermarket, but I certainly don't go out my way to. Last nights Euromillions was an exception, and I wish I had never botherd!

I bought one when they first came out, it cost me a pound. When I got outside and "scratched" it I found had won a pound, WTF.

I went back in and swapped the card for a pound coin, money back. I think I was supposed to to buy another one. Never again.

They are a get-rich-quickly scheme but, not for the punter. So no, I do not gamble with them.

Me and my brother buy a few on payday, we always seem to win more than we lose.
Before christmas I saved every card I won for 6 weeks and had almost £100.

In the last couple of weeks my brother has won £100 twice, most I have won is £40.

You have to admire the concept of an entirely voluntary tax that is taken up by people with such enthusiasm.

I've bought a few in the past and won a fraction more than I paid out. But I don't buy them anymore.

Never touch them. Remember a programme on TV where they bought 400 consecutive scratch cards and didn't even get close to winning their money back. Can't think of the programme name as it was a few years ago!

I saw a program where the host spent 5 x £100 on 5 different brands of SC. Won an average of something like £15-20 per £100 spent IIRC.

I don't buy scratchcards at all. My brother does, and thinks they make good birthday and Christmas presents. I've won the cost of a single card back the times he's sent me them and exchange it for coinage.

Normally purchased by someone who looks like they can't actually afford it, then rubbed out like they are having a fit at the counter, rather than even waiting until they leave the shop.
