I've been bidding on an item on ebay and didn't win as the reserve price wasn't met. So the seller offered me a buy it now price, which I've agreed to and was just about to pay (but the phone rang). In the meantime the seller has said they are going to relist it as they don't think I'm offering enough.
I'm assuming I don't have any rights here to make them sell it to me as I'd committed to buying it? Or do I?

They aren't pissing me about, they are new to ebay and seem genuine and were confused by what 2nd chance offer meant.
However, speaking to them we've agreed on a price for the item. The only issue is that I've already signed for the 2nd Chance Offer at the lower price. So what's the best way for them to set the invoice for the new price. Add it to the postage or relist it.
The money we are talking about here is about £200 extra.
Any thoughts as to the best way to do it to ensure that I'm 100% safe in the transaction?

do the deal as is and pay the extra on collection if you are picking it up ,if not pay the 2nd chance price and then paypal the additional seperately ,you don't have to have an ebay transaction to use paypal .this way does involve some trust though .i'm not sure you can alter the invoice once raised .

My concern is that I'm trusting them with a couple of hundred quid, which is not to be sniffed at. Edited by bimsb6 on Sunday 7th February 17:55

I might see if they are happy to relist it for me, but with the additional costs I doubt it.
