Does anyone know if there's anywhere online I can find a copy of my birth cirtificate?

I've signed up to ancestory.co.uk but they only have records, not certificates, which isn't what I need as it misses a few bits of info.

Ideally I don't want to pay for it!

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike.

I am pretty sure you have to pay for it.

It is less than £10.

Nowhere. A proper copy (i.e. not photocopy or scan) can only be bought from the GRO or register office for where the event happened, current cost £7.00.

Go to your local registry office.

Although it might be a certificate that you end up with.

The record gives you the index number of your certificate.
So you can then apply for your certificate saying "It's maix27, record 123, year 1972".
Cost is less than £10 as mentioned and they come through pretty quickly.

Brilliant, thanks guys. I'll get on it.

Sorry for the spelling, was in a bit of a rush! (It’s not usually that bad, I used to be a Sub-Editor)
