Chaps,

I seem to be having pretty significantly problems with my Citibank credit card. I won;t bore you with the details, but would appreciate it if anyone had some better contact details for someone, preferably with the clout and nouse to be able to do something, within the organisation.

The only contact details they provide is an 0870 number, which keeps you on hold for >25 minutes and then connects you to phut-phut-ding-ding "Matt" in Bangalore, who predicatably tries to talk you through a call script and doesn't help.

saynoto0870.co.uk gives a couple of other numbers, but they all connect to the same line.

I've just dropped in to a Citibank branch, who were less helpful than "Matt" in Bangalore, telling me that "CitiCards is seperate organisation sir, we can't help you". (Which may be true, but flatly declining my request to see someone a bit more senior, and repeatedly refusing to give me any contact details for anyone didn't help.)

All help welcomed. Thanks.

Oli.

P.S. And the most ironic part of this? I'm sitting in the FSA, and can see the CITIBANK building from out of the window ...

... should have added, I have also tried the "Customer Contact Form" on the website, which once I had completed it, helpfully told me "This page has expired". I am assuming that the "Customer Contact Team" didn't get the message ...

I rang them twice last week-gave up the first time when placed in a queue, but got to speak to someone the second time. Its difficult communicating because of the delay on the line, but I managed to pay off the card and cancel it OK. They'd reduced my limit from £10K to £1K so I guess they don't want my business, but I was going to bin them anyway now the Shell discount has gone.

Has it gone entirely? I thought it was still 1p/litre or something like that (perhaps 1% - which is greater, now)?

Yes , exactly the same here, binned it.

And I'm afraid it was done through the call centre Oli.

And helpfully the card to replace the one the pin did not work on arrived yesterday. Useless

Yep, from a £12k limit, to a £1200 limit.

They have to most useless customer service department I've ever come across - something I was willing to overlook when they had the good shell petrol discount...

I'm just waiting for my bill to be paid, and will be *attempting* to cancel the card... if I have no luck, I'll just chop it up and let them waste paper sending me a bill of £0.00 every month.

Although their discount has gone, as compensation, all Citybank card holderes should be getting tripple shell points on their yellow shell cards for 12 months, so said their communication when they told me the discount on the credit card was to be discontiued.
