A 2kw heater will cost about 18p/hour to run.

A gas boiler will use 50p-£1 an hour, depending on how big the property is.

If you're going to be in just one room, it makes more sense to use the electric heater in that room. Obviously, if you want to heat the whole house - the gas CH will make much better sense than a electric heater in every room
