Whenever I see someone wearing these new longer pointy shoes like these:

I immediately think of these:

Why do blokes think they look good?

They can look good with slim-fit (not emo skinny jeans) trousers.

Surely they're a passing fad though? In a few months they'll look really dated....

Size 13 feet here, so people already take the piss. I wouldn't want to look like I'm a water skier...

Not being homosexual or female, I don't really notice what shoes people are wearing.

Just doesn't matter.

I suppose I may notice what someone is wearing if I am summing up someone to be interviewed by me, or if someone comes to an occasion in totally the wrong kind of thing (like a wedding and they are wearing used mechanics overalls), but other than that, it struggles to get past my life irrelavence filter.

My missus would probably recommend hello magazine, they are obsessed with what people are wearing, and probably have a forum for it as well smile

I would have thought that you'd pay more attention, given your line of work...

I saw a chap in these today.

The toes often seem to be pointing upwards.

They remind me of these:

Which is a ruddy fantastic look, if you ask me.

But then I'm quite partial to turbans and scimitres too.

Being a size 12 on the shoes and a biggish lad pointy shoes tend to make me look like a Turkish mafia boss whether I am in jeans or a suit!

(quickly taking a pair of the aforementioned shoes off and replacing with trainers)

Absolutely, totally agree, couldn't be more right. They look totally rubbish.

They don't look too hateful when new.

But they all seem to crease up and look ridiculous after a couple of days, so all mobile phone salesman and estate agents end up with a hint of Ali-Baba about them, which isn't exactly helping an already fragile case, really.
