Are shoes/trainers still cheaper to buy in the USA?

I'm off the ths USA soon and will need a pair of trainers and also some walking boots for part of the trip.

We're staying in San Francisco for a few days at the start of the trip so there is aan opportunity to get some whilst there, before heading off on our road trip.

But will it be any cheaper than the UK?

yes still cheaper , not as good when the rate was $2 -£1 but still better than buying here
