CO2 air pistol problem
Discussion
Hi
I have an Umarex replica of a Baretta PX4 Storm that I have only shot about 750 pellets through. Anyone any idea why the accuracy should have dropped off? Even with a new CO2 canister, it's shooting low whereas I could originally put 8 shots within the 5 ring at 10 metres. And no, it's not that my aim is failing!

I would suggest its most likely down to needing a service.
The umarex pistols are notorious for perishing seals.
Either that, or you have changed the type of pellet that you are using- you should be able to find lightweight pellets at the local gun shop to compensate for the poor power of the pistol.

Too much CO2 in the atmosphere is causing additional external pressure on your CO2 cannister, rendering it less powerful.
Another reason why CO2 should be banned.
There are still disciples of the unproven, unscientific 'man-made CO2 causes climate change' garbage despite the ridicule heaped on the claims recently?!?!Another reason why CO2 should be banned.
Thanks for the constructive replies. The pistol is only about 6 months old, is that, combined with the use, long enough to need a service/new seals?

It depends where it is kept to be honest?
I have a beretta, and the seals perished as it got cold-once.
They are great bits of kit, but not the best made weapon ever.
Try oiling the seals before you do anything else though, it may bring them back if they are not too badly damaged.
And try the lighter pellets- im sure RWS made them still, they will make a world of difference.
ETA: Or jump in your aston, and bring it for me to have a look at (milton keynes)
I will strip it and have a good look at it, and only charge you: Your Aston!

yeah i would say about 750 rounds through a pistol would need a service. Your could have "leading" which is caused by poor quality rounds fowling the barrel and causeing a minor restriction, resulting in pressure loss via a worn seal....
Strip it and rebuild it soldier! Like ya daddy showed ya!

Do you really think it's wise, with your track record, to be playing with firearms? I have a beretta, and the seals perished as it got cold-once.

Went clay shooting at the weekend, and used an over and under .410 just to make a change, lovely little gun.
