This is a genuine question.

While having a shave this morning I started thinking about Scousers. I grew up in North Wales - the Scouse Riviera. The bit of North Wales I grew up in, whilst Welsh, has a bit of a Scousey accent which I definitely had but which has been gradually eroded over the 20 years I have spent in the less green but more civilised and much more crowded South East.

During my working life I do seem to have worked with all bits of the UK - where I am now the bloke who sits next to me is from Newcastle, there is another one from Sheffield, a couple of ubiquitous Aussies, and of course lots of cocker-neys.

But it has been a long, long time since I have met a Scouser.

Are they an endangered species - or is it just that they don't leave their nesting grounds and venture further afield?

Hopefully PH has the answer - in between the "dey are all down de dole office or stealing hub caps la' " answers.

That's their natural habitat but even jocks leave their promised land to explore other areas.

Maybe scousers are just happy with their lot, don't travel well and never leave the mother ship.

How have you got so many posts?

That is 400 a month!

That would put me on 33,000.

I had to edit because even though I have been here for seven years I fcked the quoting.

I've noticed and made the same point. I can't think of the last time i actually saw a real live scouser.

^^ In terms of Dans posting, it is because his chemical balance doesn't work unless he has typed a post within the last hour. Its like oxygen to him wink

And yes, I do believe that in my few years on this planet I have never met a scouser who wasn't just on holiday, waiting to go back. I think they must like it up there, wherever 'up there' is.

They are still here in North Wales, mainly living in holiday caravan parks full time having full use of local facilities, whilst going back now and then to sign on or whatever.

I googled the little monkeys to try and find them but this was second thing that came up.

It is to do with football-based thievery I believe - and that apostrophe...let's not go there.
