Not including biscuits or treats (everyone eats them, right. smile)

I've eaten a spoonful when I was very young for a bet, can't remember what I thought of it as the dog who's food it was chased me and bit my leg, and it was out his dog dog bowl. hurl

I quite like the smell of Kitikat rabbit and liver lick

(mods: Please, amusing as it would be don't move this to food or health section!)

This could be the job for you?!

Linky

"This is Simon Allison, the man who eats pet food for a living.

Chicken dinners, beef strips or campfire jerky bars - it is all the same to him: if it's a dog's dinner (or cat's breakfast), he eats it. What's more, he enjoys it.

Mr Allison is a senior food technologist for Marks & Spencer with special responsibility for pet food. This means no M&S product goes into the nation's pet bowls unless it has been tasted by him first"......

I've tried iams dry catfood before and a swig of cat milk. I now know why cats are fussy eaters once they've eaten proper food, they aren't stupid!

The problem with eating cat food is that afterwards you have the urge to lick yourself all over and then sleep for 18 hours

I bought Tesco cheap cat food and even to me it looks crap. Cat just looks at me as if to say "fker" when he's eating.
Got him a load of whiskas and he loves it! (so do I)

I've tried dog biccys after seeing Mel Gibson eat them in Lethal Weapon! Oh he's cool I'll try that kind of thing.

I ate some Whiskas once as a bet.

Very gritty, though the gravy had a lot of flavour.

Keep dog or cat food as survival rations, as you are not likely to eat it if you're just 'a bit hungry', but will eat it when starving and have no other option.

You know, like in your car for when it is buried in a 12' snow drift. Next to your shovel, and Zombie Attack Survival Handbook.

Nothing wrong with dog/cat food. It's prepared in the same way as human food precisely for the reasons in this thread. You just won't be getting the premium cuts of meat, but it will be perfectly fine to eat.

We used to head back to different friends houses for "tea & Toasties" after nights out. One night "different" toasties were on offer.

The were quite nice an were all eaten without much fuss however one guy was nearly sick when contents revealed as dog food.

Used to eat doggie choccy drops as a kid, and went to uni with someone who regularly ate cat food on toast, as he thought it tasted better than pate hurl

I have tasted cat food. One of the premium brands in a foil tray, and was surprised to discover that it was slightly sweet.

I didn't think that cats could perceive sweetness or metabolise sugar. Perhaps they get some kind of 'sugar rush' and this is the manufacturer's way of ensuring that once the cat has tried Brand X, it won't eat anything else.

excellent idea mc, opiate laden cat food could be a winner. not simply fussy, your moggy would rip the house to shreds if he didn't get the correct din dins

Not knowingly.

Some pie fillings can be dubious but I've never knowingly eaten Pedigree Chum or Felix
