If, someone committed murder, for instance, then admitted it or DNA proved a crime, why should we pay for them to go to prison for 20+ years, i feel, if they ended a life, then they dont deserve to live themselves?

Had they done the same awful deed as adults I doubt they would ever have been released.
And, of course, my personal view is that neither should have ever been released.
This does not negate my argument for avoiding the death penalty.
