Yes. As long as it's public and I can have the ticket concession. If you are going to kill people as a punishment you may as well make a profit out of it. Could have live televised executions every Saturday night just after the lottery draw.

You might like to specify the severity of the crime.

There is no doubt that my brother was doing 42mph in a 30mph zone last month. But I think the death penalty may be a little harsh.

the fact that some prisoners are released doesn't mean death is the only alternative

I actually had those two in mind when i asked the question!

If, someone committed murder, for instance, then admitted it or DNA proved a crime, why should we pay for them to go to prison for 20+ years, i feel, if they ended a life, then they dont deserve to live themselves?

As a society we used to hang children for stealing bread back in the 1800's, people still committed crimes though.

The death penalty isn't a deterrent because people that commit crimes think that they will get away with it.

umm not 100% imagine a fight starting off camera then ending infront of the camera in the death of someone involved, what happened off camera? Even with 100% clear cut evidence there could be mitigation.

However abhorrent the crime they were juveniles. There was probably an obligation to try and rehabilitate them. It failed, of course, in Venables case. I suspect he will not walk free again.

Had they done the same awful deed as adults I doubt they would ever have been released.

And, of course, my personal view is that neither should have ever been released.

This does not negate my argument for avoiding the death penalty.
