We quite often see threads now from young (ish) blokes asking for advice..

Normally along the lines of

She is shagging 3 of my mates and my mum, should I leave her?

Missus is mental what to do

Am I being left behind?

Ad inifitum

Are these threads/posters the result of single parent families and the collapse of traditional values?

Before I get attacked by all the single mums on here, I am not having a dig at you, but it seems that a fair few posters are asking questions on PH that previously would have been dealt with by their dads

As a lot of kids dont have dads anymore is this why they seem unable to deal with basic issues or questions that others take for granted?

Good point being raised. I don't know the answer to it.

Not to sure on this, i think the ease of access to the internet and the development of social networking sites has something to do with this phenomena, mainly because its easier to ask your peer group on something like facebook than it is to ask a grown up. Thats my take on it anyway

perhaps they don't feel comfortable with talking to their parents, or don't wish to burden them unnecessarily? Starting a topic about, say, depression might be easier if the only ones who hear it are people you don't know in real life. Sift though the "stop whining" or "be a real man like me" standard ph replies and you will often get some good advice

I think a lot of these "issues" are caused by women getting to big for their boots and not doing as they are told!

Perhaps it is the anonymity that talking to people on the internet offers and the option to disappear or delete and forget if you don't like what you are hearing etc or things change.
