Recommend me a dry dog food

I currently feed my lab on Royal Canin, but at 50 quid for a large sack it is getting a bit much. Can someone please recommend me an alternative dry food that costs less but is not too cheap and nasty.

We buy "working dog" food, you don't have to pay tax on that so a large bag is £10 both my dobermans seem to love it.....

Burns is supposed to be quite good but no idea as to price.

Most of the ones I'd recommend are around the same price.

Just be aware that cheaper does not necessarily mean more cost efficient, ck the feeding guidelines. Some cheaper foods suggest feeding larger quantities.

If you had to feed between similar priced Bakers or Beta, feed Beta.
Chappie is a decent cheap food.

Used Pedigree for years but changed to James Wellbeloved over the last 8 months when I found out Pedigree think birds beaks and claws are justifiable protein.

My two are now in the best condition Ive ever seen them.

Very little reproduced waste too.

Highly recommended.

We always used Bakers Complete. It was the only one our dog could eat without chucking up everywhere.

Wagg Worker is loved by my dogs and is VAT free. I always try and find a VAT free dog food as it disgusts me that I should somehow have to pay Gordon tt 17.5% extra just to feed my dogs.

The feckers will no doubt install cameras in our houses, and "invest in the public sector", to make sure I don't give them all the scraps of bacon and steak, etc, that I did not pay VAT on.

BTW, I have 7 dogs, they are all capable of eating bones, etc. no problems.

Anyone remember the '70s white dog poos? ... well mine are grey - but just as easy to deal with...

Evidently you've never lived with a family of Thai people. The chicken's foot is the most sought after part of the dinner. They thought I was being polite whilst being their honoured guest and refusing it. Still watching grandma and grandpa chew throw the entirity of a chickens foot for a few hours after the meal did leave me wondering about life.

Back to the dogs... my two before they had to be rehomed got everything off the kitchen table and bones from the butchers. The butchers gladly give these away free as they have to pay to get them disposed of. On days when there was nothing left from the table they got a scoop oe Pedigree (was about 40Euro a sack and would last well over a month).

The both looked fine and had lovely coats, free bones from the butchers and some veg and carbs off the table is the way to go.

You get it for a good price then, is that for a 15kg bag? My dogs on it. I'm lucky and get it through work so get a discount but intrigued to know where you get it for that price.

Mine is on Arden Grange and he seems to do fantastically well on it.

Our dog is on a vegetarian diet - Wafcol and Happy Dog. Big galloping Pointer and she does just fine. Price wasn't the reason for choosing but they do seem cheaper than the meat products.

That Royal Canin is good stuff. My Retriever has never been healthier. I am sure PetPlanet are cheaper than £50 for it. Free delivery too.

I use Arden Grange 15kg bag is 29 quid, my german wire haired pointer loves it. Also as others have said if you buy breeder bags no VAT to pay.

Other people I know use origien (spelling) which I think is a dried food, or frozen tripe and are very happy.
