Do you know what, I am always amazed at how consistently 'sided' people are in general, and especially on here.
I've never understood why so many issues seem to get pigeon-holed along party lines, if you're on the left then you must feel this, on the right you must feel that. I've always tried to see each issue on it's own merits and not allow my opinions to become partisan.
Do other people do this or do you generally fall in to one camp with every issue?
Just a quick for instance.
I think Tony Blairs decision to buddy up with the Americans and invade Iraq was absolutely dead right but I find the American Republican party to be largely populated by loonies.
I hate the way we are being brain-washed by the Climate Change fascists but I think being a part of Europe is a bloody good idea.
I drive a V8 and before that other high performance gas-guzzlers yet I've been a vegetarian (lentalist!) for 26 years.
These things don't add-up from a political point of view but taken individually they seem correct to me.

People in general are very uncomfortable if you don't fit into their pre-conceived pigeonholes. In my opinion this is a throwback to our tribal evolution - someone different, not "of our tribe" is dangerous, a risk, someone to be wary of, in many cases someone to dismiss out of hand despite any validity of their argument. Human nature.
