Survey for online gamers/gamblers - really simple
Discussion
Hi guys. I am doing a little bit of research and I need some responses for my survey, so where better than the PH massive, in particular those who have played a game or gambled online at some point.
I would really appreciate it if you could take 2 minutes to fill this really simple survey. It is only 9 questions long and should not take more than 1-2 minutes to complete.
The survey is at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YNY2JWN
Thanks in advance

You also have to redefine "Skill game" as with the gambling laws, there has to be an element of skill involved somewhere with competitions to win prizes for money- which is why competitions like Best of the Best (where you can win a supercar) are basically spot the ball competitions rather than a prize draw. Obviously there is a good degree of skill involved, together with a healthy dose of luck too (otherwise I'd be a proud supercar owner!)
Backgammon is a skill game but it's possible to play a perfect game relatively simply, which a computer is well suited to. Partygammon attempts to sidestep the problem with short move time limits. I'm not sure how successful it is.
I answered your survey but I'm not too sure about some of your questions. Tic-tac-toe for instance; I wouldn't 'play' it but might knock up a bot to take advantage of drunks and the stupid. Rock/paper/scissors is stretching the definition of 'skill game' to it's limit. The pool/darts etc is very dependant on the implementation. My gut feeling is that such games would be extremely open to exploitation.
What's the survey for? Purely academic interest or are you considering building a website?

does backgammon count as a skill game? it's kind of 50/50 skill/chance.
That was one of the ones I was thinking of.Although what's to stop someone trying to play these things with a computer instead of their own skill?
