The GF has over the last 18 months or so been going through a rather acrimonious divorce. The financial stuff was sorted out late last year. She has now bought her new house & moved in around a month or so ago.

Now the reason she'd had enough of the ex was his controlling & from time to time aggressive behaviour. The ex cannot stand the sight of me & refuses to be anywhere near my presence. It's almost as if the red mist comes down when he so much as senses my presence. He blames me for his marrige breakdown, when it was dead already caused by his behaviour.

So given this what does he do? Well it would now appear that he has decided to buy the house which backs onto my gf's. He also announced he was going to put a gate in the fence so the kids could shuffle back & forwards between the 2 houses.

Right now I can't work out if he's taken leave of his senses or if he has some malicious intent afoot. Unfortunately I can't see there's a lot that can be done to stop him buying the house as it's clearly no crime. But this cannot be normal behaviour can it?

standard PH response seems you should check with the land registry to see who owns the fence

Make sure the master bedroom is at the back of the house. Regularly give her a good seeing to on the windowsill.

That should do it.

He's quite mad. I'd go to the vendors and suggest upping the price. If the guy's that bonkers he'll pay way over the odds.

I shall look out for the GF murdered by insane axe wielding ex hubby thread. Perhaps he just wants to be close to his kids?

Wait till he moves in and tell the police your new neighbour keeps inviting your girlfriend's kids over and telling them to call him Daddy.

Sounds like he wants to be near his kids, and make a difficult situation as easy as possible for them.

Let me get this clear, btw, you were shagging her while she was still married?

Oooo, good call!! Split the extra proceeds by way of compensation.

Then spend the money on enlarging the window and windowsill of the master bedroom at the back of the house. thumbup

That's understandable. I've never met you and I can't stand the sight of you.

Do you like drama in your life?

Sounds like the gf has more baggage than Heathrow during a snow storm.

Put up a "To Let" sign liberated from somewhere nearby. Don't tell the kids anything.

Bi-monthly, pop a bondage and swingers party invitation into his letter box.

And as said already, regularly smash her backdoors in in the most visible places around the house.

Not normal for a father to want to be near his children?
From the perspective of a parent I'd say it was pretty normal.
It might not be all about you, you know.
